EYEN’s first General Assembly: behind the scenes of a youth-led energy transition

Big transformation requires representation, especially in the just (energy) transition. Not only in Brussels, but in all European capitals. In a Europe-wide network.  One month ago, the European Youth Energy Network came together for our first General Assembly, the highest decision-making body of the Federation. The European Year of Youth 2022: EYEN will contribute to long-lasting activities in Europe and its member states

This is big! The EU has designated 2022 the European Year of Youth (EYY), as announced by President von der Leyen in her 2021 State of the Union Address and following the political agreement between the European Parliament and the Council. The Commission will coordinate throughout 2022 a range of activities in close contact with the European Parliament, the Member States, regional and local authorities, youth organisations and young people themselves. Turning the EU Green Deal into reality is a tricky task. Citizen’s Perspective On The Urban Energy Transition: Youth-Led Event On The Road Towards COP26

Driven by climate change and public pressure, the engagement of city governments has continued to grow in the past few years. IPCC Report: no time to waste, youth willing to be part of the solution more than ever

The IPCC’s Sixth Assessment report is a brutal reminder to everyone – from citizens to politicians, passing by business people – that a shift towards a carbon-negative global economy is urgent and the only solution to limit the damage we have already done to our planet. On the 29th of June, 4:30 to 6:15 pm CEST, the European Youth Energy Network (EYEN), an European network of youth energy-focused organisation will be launched with the mission of placing youth at the heart of the European energy transition. EYEN wins the “SOLVE THE GAP – 48h EU Youth Digital Hackathon”

EYEN has won the “SOLVE THE GAP – 48h EU Youth Digital Hackathon”, proposing an innovative idea to improve youth engagement in policymaking and was awarded the Hackathon’s grand prize of 10.000 € by a panel of experts including Mariya Gabriel, the European Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth. Youth shaping the Climate Pact: showcasing successful youth engagement initiatives

In the framework of the official launch of the European Climate Pact by the European Commission on the 16th of December, the SDG7 Youth Constituency and the European Youth Energy Network organised the “Youth Shaping the Climate Pact” event, attracting 100 participants from more than 30 countries.
